The European Union Agency for Railways makes available the Reference Document Database RDD in order to facilitate the access to the rules applied in conjunction with the authorisation of railway vehicles in the Member States of the European Union plus Norway and Switzerland.

The Reference Document:
Part 1 The Application Guide
The Reference Document Application Guide v.3.0 refers to the elements included in the Commission Decision 2011/155/EU, and any other information relevant for the management, understanding and use of the reference document. Version 3.0 is available in all European languages: BG, CS, DA, DE, EL, EN, ES, ET, FI, FR, HR, HU, IT, LT, LV, NL, NO, PL, PT, RO, SK, SL, SV. The list of parameters published in the Commission Decision 2015/2299/EU was also implemented in RDD.
NB1: The elements addressing the NLF in The Reference Document Application Guide v.3.0 should not be considered because they are superseded by the 4th Railway Package and its transpositions.
NB2: To support the migration to the new list of parameters, the existing list of parameters from Annex III of the Reference Document Application Guide v2.0-22.07.2013 has been preserved.
Part 2 National Reference Documents (NRDs)
The information on national technical rules and classifications in RDD is currently under verification on a Member State by Member State basis.
